I won't hate school as long as there's no bullies and it provides good enough opportunities. However, I will end up hating it if it ends up consuming lots of money and I end up with a crappy adult life. I did dislike 3rd to 6th grade and half of middle school because nobody understood me, felt unsafe at recess because I rarely had kids I can go up to and play, and my parents had a hard time trying to find a place where people did understand me.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

I used to despise school. But,that was when I was a kid.

Looking back as a teen,it wasn't that bad. I had some cool teachers, and some cool classmates.

Even if it bored me,I could at least doodle until the bell rung.

Highschool. This year is kind of lame, two of my best friends hopped schools. The years are getting progressively more boring. Ironic considering freshman year is supposed to be bad and i had the most fun that year. I dont know if im just high enough in the social chain or what, but bullying doesnt seem to be a problem here (but we are the best school in the county)

I like this place and some of the people, but its also a cesspool and has a lot of bad people who dont care too much for their education, lol.

Well... i dont hate school... I just hate the hour i have to wake up at... i mean &:00 am!!!! Thats like midnight for me! I'm literarly battling my eyes open..especially if we have physics or math as the first lesson.

Thing is school... is pretty much necessary for life... sure it doesnt guarantee u a job or university spot... but it does improve ur chances of it.

Also i meet most of my friends in school... so theres an up for me =)

Tho em exams stress the freakin hell outta u

Freakin' yes, I get to learn cool and interesting things, meet new people, get valuable experience, improve my chances of getting a job and work on things I'm passionate about.

Sure this experience differs from person to person, what with bullying and getting up at "oh god why" o'clock. But I'm a whole hearted lover of education in all of its forms, no matter what.

I don't like high school.  I take a lot of really difficult classes like trigonometry and advanced English.  Which by the way, I never signed up for those classes, I signed up for things I felt I needed, but was put into those other classes instead.

I also extremely hate how schools are run, or my school at least.  I was getting off the bus and it's midterm week, and instead of having the person holding the door open say "welcome back" or something nice, she screamed at everyone walking in saying "go to the library, sit down and don't talk!!!".  ?????????

I go to a "pre-university" or something of the sorts, it's a different school and I get bussed there and back to my other school every day for two hours, and I absolutely love it there.  Mostly because it's not the school I go to, I actually have freedom there and it pertains to my future.

I had some tough times in school, being bullied most of my life and stuff. I also hate homeworkd and such, but I don't really hate the school anymore since everything  you go through there will be worth at the end... I hope...

So yeah,i get bored again  i don't know if this is a topic before, and i think this would be the appropriate section.

so yeah,i hate school cause

1.Homework,Homework,tons of homework

2.30 minutes recess/break,Seriously? :okiedokielokie:

3.Study for long hours.

4.Bored there,but at-least some lessons were fun.

5.i have no friends in class,so it would be hard for me to find group members for a group project  :(

So what are your opinions?

Positive things about school:

1.Some Lessons is fun(unless the teacher gets mad)

2.Delicious food

3.School Teaches us Important stuff that would be useful when we are older

4.Luckily,There are no bullies in my school  -_-

5.Friends,Even as a loner,i still had friends, and spend time with them.

I don't really hate it, per say. But I can be very annoyed.

Things I don't like about high school:

1. Homework. I hate doing homework. I try to finish everything at school. I just want to relax when I get home. I don'tbeing stressful.

2. Essays. I don't like essays (except when they're in English. I can write English essays quite fine. It is my own language that I suck in. Crazy right?

3. Annoying teachers. I sometimes get lame teachers that use very different methods than I like.

4. Having to read a book for some project when I am already reading a good book. Honestly. I am reading the Count of Monte Cristo and then I have to read "Sjálfstætt fólk" (an Icelandic book) and "The Last Lecture". I can deal with "The Last Lecture" but "Sjálfstætt fólk" is really boring. The Count of Monte Cristo is a much heavier book and has more pages than "The Last Lecture" and "Sjálfstætt fólk".

Things I like about high school:

1. Not getting too much homework to start with. Being given a chance to finish everything while I'm at school

2. Good teachers. Teachers that don't try to teach in just one way, but try to understand each student and try to develope a teaching method for that student and others.

3. Being given a second chance if you fail on something.

4. Being able to choose what you want to learn (although sometimes what you choose isn't exactly what you imagined it would be). Being able to procrastinate a little bit with things.

5. A friendly environment. There are no bullies, you can really talk to everybody. Not that you will become best friends or anything, but who knows :smug: .

I absolutely hated school and had some of the worst experiences of my life there. College and uni were a little better, but for me I think there's just something about a school-like environment that's really stressful. Not all of it was necessarily the school's fault, but I really struggled with fitting in and making friends - I have good friends now, but none of them are from school/uni/college. (The work was never a problem, except for PE which I hated, it was just...everything else.)

It seems to be pretty common to hate it (although obviously for the people who like it, that's awesome) and I wonder if that's because the school environment, generally speaking, is...not very accommodating when it comes to people who are in any way "different", especially those who are shy/introverted as teachers can often be insensitive to stuff like that and force kids to do things they really don't want to like speaking in front of the class or something. I mean, I've had great teachers who were really understanding as well as terrible ones so it's pretty much just luck I guess, but...yeah, it makes me a little sad thinking that there are kids out there now who are having as tough a time as I did, for whatever reason.

...but mostly I'm just really glad I work at home now.  :yay:

I'm currently a Senior in High School... and no I actually love this school the hours are a lot shorter (4 hours a day Mon- Fri 12PM-4PM) the teachers are all very cool same with the principal, and the classrooms are small

I tell all my friends about my school they say they'd do anything to get into a school like that

I love studying. I'm also one of the most lazy, slothful bastards you'll ever see. But i love challenging my knowledge and sharpening my wit as well, and academics is a fine place to do so. Studying, solving problems, obtaining knowledge and prying into the minds of professionals, all while having a great social circle of peers to cooperate and contend with is a great feeling, and i know i'll be missing my college days when i'm through with my bachelor's.

I learn towards enjoying school overall. Sure, I met some rude people over the years, and not enough happens at my university for socializing, but the fact that I am learning so much overrides the social aspect.

Have you ever been pick on at school I have and I hate school because of it. A group of mean girls at my school are always picking on me for no reason and when I get back at them they try to turn it into a fight. I am 13 and in the 7th grade they are in the 8th grade. I need some advice because I have school tomorrow. Also telling the principle won't help because the principle is her mom. They Also pick on my best friend she is 12 almost 13 in 3 weeks

the principle is her mom.

Well, this right here sounds like the reason she picks on people.  Just venturing a wild guess, but I'd say this girl sounds like she thinks she owns the place, and she can do whatever she pleases because mommy won't get her in trouble.  Sounds like we got ourselves a King Joffrey.

I was picked on a lot in 7th grade as well.  I'm male, and I had long hair at that age, and it made me look kind of effeminate.  For that reason alone, I was bullied and tormented by 8th graders, and even had food thrown at me regularly.  My advice is handle this Jackie Robinson style.  Don't fight back.  Don't give these brats any amunition.  As hard as it is, just ignore them.  Just try to walk away.  When you get home, take your anger out on a cardboard box or something, and pretend your beating them up.  And then just keep ignoring them.  Walk away every time.  Hang in there, and by high school all of this should go away.  By high school, kids stop being quite so immature and start focusing on things like college.  It will get better, I promise you.

When I was your age I was obese and got picked on constantly because of it. Being shy didn't help either. Hmmm well i don't know much in that area but to begin, violence won't solve the answer. For now, it would be probably best to try and avoid them. Sorry if this sounds like terrible advice but I'm not sure what you can do in this situation.

Not really sure any more.

I hate school cuz I'm forced to put energy into stupid tasks. Please tell me why I need to learn calculus in order to be a history major. Makes no sense. The school system is terrible kids, but we can blame our government for that.

Oh, also middle school is the worst. Got picked on so much. But then I transferred school districts for high school and I don't have to deal with idiot kids bullying me, disrupting class, and threatening to stab teachers. Yeah, I guess it could be worse, since I've been in worse. Hang in there.

I had the same problem when I was in seventh grade. I had long hair for one year and was picked on quite a lot for it. After I had it cut to a normal length the bullies stopped. Now I'll never go back to having hair like that because I just can't stand it.

The bully situation, your best bet is to talk to your parents about it and ignore the bullying.

Anyways, I didn't hate school, I just didn't like some of the classes I had, especially in junior high. Once I hit high school everything was smooth sailing right through graduation.

I hated school too. It's not really a place where you are being prepared for life. You're just being teached things, that you might not even enjoy. Your talents are also not sponsored, it's the opposite, you get punished for them sometimes.

I had this girl in my class and she could draw fantastic things. During a history lesson, she was drawing one of her pics again. The teacher went to her and threw it in the bucket, saying she should stop with this silly thing.

Our school is there for one reason and one reason only and that's to accept a subordinate role.

It kind of reminds me of this:

Love College, hated high school. College expands my mind and encourages me to thrive, and I have lots of wonderful friends. In high school my mind was hardly even challenged, everyone around me sucked, and the administration was corrupt and classist.

I'm so thankful to be in this part of my life, and done having to be around nasty people who pull me down all the time. I love school, but loving school is a recent development.

The work isn't my main problem with school. The main problem I have are the other students. Most of them are annoying and so unpleasant that I can barely concentrate. Even when they're quiet, I still have a hard time concentrating when I'm around them.
