I do. Moreso in the spirit's side than the ghost's but I don't dismiss the possibility of them either. Certainly I believe in Purgatory and perhaps remaining in the world until their penance or material business is complete can be seen as a form of purgatory.

Meanwhile the Native Americans and similar cultures have always had religions based on the worship or at least awareness of spirits. The Kami of Shinto belief are said to be everywhere in nature, to my understanding, the First Nations people hold a similar attitude with their beliefs.

So yeah, there are stranger things between Heaven and Earth after all.

Well, yes due to my culture/religion. We do believe in them, but if anything, we believe that only good spirits roam around, to teach us lessons from their past mistakes/lives. And guide the leader of the tribe.

I'm still learning about my naive stuff because I only learned that I was one a few months ago.

Gosh darnit if I seem stupid.

No you don't.

It's not exactly the same but I've had a similar feeling when first learning Kung Fu. Everyone seems so much better and more knowledgeable while you are struggling with basic concepts. Everyone starts at the bottom though, so don't be ashamed. Just be proud of every new thing you learn.  :)

I am open to the idea of spirits and the paranormal. I believe there are planes of existence that can't be perceived, at least in our current state

I do believe in the existence of angelic and demonic spiritual beings, but I don't believe in ghosts in the sense that they are disembodied souls that roam around because they haven't "passed on" yet. Any supposed ghost encounters are either the result of hallucinations or demonic activity. Same thing with extraterrestrials and whatnot.

Honestly not at all, as I am not very spiritual or religious, but I do find people talking of their expiriences fascinating. There are times I wonder for a moment maybe something is going on, but being a strong literal person I don't really believe in it. Either way I mean no disrespect from those who had these encounters.

Well, the thing is... that if ghosts are real, then they are made of matter, but if they are made of matter, then why can they go through walls? So, if they can go through walls, then they are not matter, but if they are not matter, then how come people claim that ghosts can close doors? It's a bit of a contradiction.

I know you aren't here these days, but this gives me an opportunity to say that scientists have proven that nonzero mass objects can go through walls. There is a fundament particle called a neutrino that is now known to have mass and you basically are bombarded with them constantly. In fact over the course of your like you have a mole of neutrinos pass straight through your body. I could go into flavors and leptons and the uncertainty principle, but it isn't important. What is important to this conversation is that matter with mass can phase through solid objects.

Imagine consciousness/thought is cosmological information. Now account for superposition of states and quantum decoherence. This does allow the concept of a non corporeal entity (one that will occasionally take on corporeal or classical properties when observed) to be theoretically plausible. I mean, quantum physics and information theory posits that all mass with position that we see (classical) only takes on our properties after decoherence -- instead of just photons and such.

Phase through walls but have mass and able to be in multiple places at ones, in multiple states at once, changing when observed, with information. Ghosts may yet be a thing that is both quantum and classical.

I grossly oversimplified that, but it works.

Yes... I have many reasons why. From my experiences alone I do believe we are not alone in this universe both astronomically and spiritually. I have plenty of stories to tell.

No. The only ghost/spirit that one can see would come from their imagination.

Yes as people who wait to start their new life in another dimention. I don't believe in god, but I do believe in heaven.

I've seen apparitions before since our area has a history of being, well, haunted. I've seen walking shadows, heard sounds, had one whisper my name in my ear while I was asleep one time, and so on.

However, I'm still skeptical because I've been told that they're hallucinations.

Ghosts etc are interesting phenomenon I haven't really delved deep into them so i dont really have much on them yet but they seem to hold some potential.

One thing I've speculated is that our realm is overlapped with the other so it's basically like two steps in a staircase but they are inside of each other.

I certainly do. I've had experiences, mostly with shadow people. I've also witnessed a cup being lifted off my dresser and thrown across the room. That was an interesting apartment. And for the record, I wasn't alone, someone else witnessed the same thing I did.

Anyway, most people who do not believe haven't had extremely vivid experiences, and tha's' okay too. But keeping an open mind is key. I'm also a Mortician. I have....seen some things.

I belive theres a possibility of ghosts. However, i dont belive a lot of them are the spooky scary "rah, imma kill you" ghosts, rather than spirits checking on their family members to make sure they are okay.

I believe that there are good spirits of loved people once passed. And there is the possibility of evil spirits who I hope will never harm the living or dead I care about!

The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland has always been my favorite.

I believe in spirits, but not in any of the ways presented in the poll, so I can't really vote. I don't believe in "passing on" at all. I believe in three-part reincarnation. Ghost are just there because there isn't a valid vessel just yet, so they wait in the Astral/Ethereal. Though there are other kinds of spirits, not just human, so I guess I could somewhat agree with B :twi:

No. The super collider deals with physical matter. What, you think they're made of ectoplasm? Pfft...

I agree with this idea in some sense

I read and then listened to that show, and it's an absurd conflation from someone who is actually quite intelligent. First off, it presupposes that the audience isn't aware that the LHC has sensor calibration requirements. It also assumes, indirectly, that the LHC has not detected previously unproven or detected particles. Finally, dark matter and dark energy are still only mathematically proven, with no direct or indirect observation of the quantum state. Basically the LHC hasn't detected everything yet, and it didn't detect all discoveries the moment it was turned on. There is flawed logic in his assertion.

THANK YOU! Also, that thing gives off some f***ed up vibes, no spirit entity would be comfortable anywhere near it, let alone inside of it.

Yes I do believe in Ghosts/spirits, as I have heard many first hand encounters that some of my family members have experienced.

The house my great grandma used to live in was once owned by a man who committed suicide in the back bedroom. My Aunt and my great grandma were sitting on the couch watching TV in the living room when the front door flew open and slammed into the wall, then they both said that they felt a cold presence move past them and into the kitchen. A few minutes later the cold presence moved past them again and seemed to leave back out the front door. That's only one of many other stories I've been told by family members over the years of their supernatural experiences.
