First, that would require things that don't exist at this point:

 

1: I think I'd have to be at least twenty years younger.

 

2: I'd definitely have to be single and not married or in a relationship.

 

But, yeah. I think I might date a Pony if:

 

1: I liked her personality and her nature and

 

2: if she liked me for the same reasons.

 

But, would I date a pony just because she was a pony? Nah, I don't think so but I wouldn't mind being friends with them.

 

Also, it's interesting to me that you started this thread because I was thinking of starting a thread that asked, "which pony do you think would make the best girlfriend/boyfriend and why?"

 

So, if you don't mind, how about if we add that, too?

The problem that some people have with getting in an intimate relationship with a pony is (this is my interpretation) that ponies are NOT humanoid. That is, despite being intelligent creatures, they have little to no resemblance to human biology.

They're honestly pretty close. They have horselike aspects and (to me) some doglike aspects but there's a lot about them that's pretty humanoid about their bodies and faces.

The pony bodies aren't woman shaped, so I couldn't really get into it.

True they don't have all of a woman's curves but they're so cute you can overlook it and they do look pretty good from behind. 

Technically, Equestrian ponies are sapient extraterrestrials.

 

Therefore, it's xenophilia, not bestiality.

I see that all the time and it's not technically correct(the best kind of correct).

Xenophilia is attraction to aliens. The equivalent with animals is zoophilia.

Bestiality is having sex with animals. The closest equivelent I can find with aliens is rishathra.

 

Why do so many people say "only if I was a pony too"? If you like each other you like each other. Why should it matter? Would it be different if you were a griffin or a donkey or a dragon?

I'm already spoken for, but were I single, I certainly wouldn't rule it out. (Well, I'd rule it out on the grounds of them being fictional, but not on any other grounds.)

 

I would depend on the pony though. Celestia, no thanks; Luna, sure. Here's a non-exhaustive list of ponies I would date:

• Any of the Mane 6, though preferably Twilight Sparkle.
• Sunset Shimmer.
• Luna.
• Cadence, should she become single again.
• Apple Fritter.
• Flitter or Cloudchaser.
• Lyra Heartstrings.
• Amethyst Star.
• Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Diamond Tiara, or Silver Spoon. Maybe Scootaloo.
• Trixie.
• Any of the Dazzlings, provided they have a pony like form (which has been speculated), and only on the condition that they cease to be evil. (They can be evil to me in the bedroom provided we've agreed on a stopword.)
• Vinyl Scratch or Octavia.
• Coco Pommel.
• Minuette.

I can understand the "if they were humanized" argument.

 

The "if I were ponified" argument I find less understandable though. It's like saying "I would fancy you if I were 3 inches shorter", or "I would date you if I had brown hair". Why should the appearance of your own body influence what you find attractive in others?

 

I mean, I know that, for example, some short men will often avoid becoming romantically involved with tall women, not wanting to look like midgets standing next to their partner. But I find it sad that people would let trivialities like that stand in the way of potential true love.

I have to agree with what most people have been saying, partially.  I am human and they are ponies.   Despite the fact that we are both sentient, we are different biologically, culturally, and we don't even have close to the same body design.

 

The ponies are adorable, and I could easily become close friends with them. 

 

I would never do anything sexual with any pony, as that is...not something I am even remotely interested in, and I find it pretty distasteful, to be honest.  Yeah sure you're allowed to be into whatever you want, it's none of my business, but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed an opinion on it too.

 

Given the right circumstances (and by that I mean years and years of time spent with them), I might consider dating one of them in an entirely non-sexual relationship.  Heck, if I was trapped there with no way to get back to Earth, I might consider marrying one of them.  But it would take a lot to convince me to do be anything more than friends with them.  I would much rather date a human.  I'm not quite misanthropist enough to say I'd rather date a pony than a human.
