I wouldn't. I think they're absolutely adorable, but I wouldn't date anything that isn't human. Their sapience has nothing to do with it for me; I'm just not attracted to any other species than humans in that way.

I'd consider dating a pony on one condition.  You know that spell Twilight Sparkle used to turn the mane six into Breezies???  If the spell could do that, then it could probably also be used to turn a human into a pony.  If i could first find Twilight Sparkle and ask her to turn me into a pony (preferably a pegesus) using that spell, then sure, I'd date a pony.  Just not as a human.

I mean, I know that, for example, some short men will often avoid becoming romantically involved with tall women, not wanting to look like midgets standing next to their partner. But I find it sad that people would let trivialities like that stand in the way of potential true love.

It's because, regardless of whether or not you find the ponies attractive, It's just weird to have a romantic relationship outside your own species.  That's the main reason I've never been able to get behind Spikes crush on Rarity.  Such a relationship could never work because they can't possibly have a foal together.  The same thing holds true for a relationship between a human and a pony.  It doesn't matter if I bacame a pony or if the pony turns into a human.  As long as we aren't the same race, such a relationship could never work.

I disagree with this 100%.  I absolutely love the idea of being in a romantic relationship with a sapient non-human female being.  The inability to have biological offspring would not matter to me at all.  The only down side would be if that detail mattered to her.  But not every couple in existence needs to have children.  Even in our reality, some human couples are unable to reproduce and some choose not to.  I would hope that no one believes those relationships to be somehow less valid than others.
