science Static Electricity

Static electricity is particularly bad during the winter when the humidity is low. I seem to charge up like a giant capacitor and find it extremely annoying. So much so, I often carry a metal rod in my pocket and use it to discharge on a door knob instead of my fingers. It works well.

Anybody else find static electricity to be irritating?

I get shocked every time I get into my brother's car. I hate that. I don't mind rubbing my feet on the carpet and shocking someone else with a nice handshake, but without that element of added fun, I can do without it.

Don't even get me started.  For some reason I'm always getting shocked by static electricity when I'm in Walmart....:mlp_confused: And it also sometimes happens if I touch the outside of a car.

Remind me to never let you pump gas.

I do not like static electricity at all during the winter. I have carpet so sometimes it intensifies the shock. Doorknobs are the worst as i touch those the most. I always try to remember to clench my hand before touching something cause getting shocked in a finger is worse then getting a shock to the knuckle ha

Static electricity is really intense in my room. It's a bit frightening at times.

It's so bad that when my dog jumps up on me while I have my earbuds in it makes a sound.

Every single time I take the clothes out of the laundry, I just die on the spot. It's that bad.

Gotta love high voltage clothing. lol  :okiedokieloki:

Have you tried using dryer sheets to avoid the static buildup?

Yeah I've tried using them. It's not that bad butt I still end up getting shocked stuffing my hands in the dryer.
