Things You Dislike, That Most Bronies Like; And Why

The hatred towards those who identify very strongly with the fandom. That is to say, I hate the hatred but most other fans of the show engage in it. No, the more dedicated fans aren't "giving you a bad name"; instead it's the outsiders who apply the bad name to you that are giving you the bad name. Cases in point: football fans aren't given a "bad name" by the ones who always wear their favorite player's jersey (sometimes even not washing it) or paint their bodies at the stadium, and music fans aren't given a "bad name" by those who trash the concert halls while drunk/high and don't wash the hand the artist signed, so why should bronies be any different? Sure, there might be an article or two about obsessed football fans / music fans, but in the former case it's seen as a sign of dedication rather than a disgusting downside and in the latter case it's usually seen as a set of isolated events and not representative of fans of the artist in question. In all three cases someone on the outside who is uninformed might want to apply a bad name to the entire fan community, and in two of those cases that is quickly brushed off as incorrect because of the people's past experiences with the majority of the fans... but since we're the newest and least understood, other outsiders see the bad name applied by their fellow non-brony and go with it because they've never had any contradictory experiences. Hence, there's no reason to "brush off" the bad publicity as being just an overreaction, and suddenly everyone starts hating us for "valid reasons" that they have never even verified the validity of. In general, I hate that the community wants to bring down the level of involvement that the most dedicated fans have in the fandom.

Well, for starters I can't help but find Equestria Girls and its sequel to be complete and utter shite, its character designs are just plain creepy and the idea to make them humans is just all around idiotic(at least to me, it just makes me like the characters that much less.)

 

I can't stand the character of Sunset Shimmer, she's just the average stupid, underdeveloped, cliched villain we've seen countless times before, and her voice is worthy of causing one's ears to bleed.

 

 

I don't see what's so good about Trollestia(or Molestia, but at least that has some amusing moments) and it just feels insulting to fans of Celestia(including myself).

I don't know, I don't really like Flutterbat in all honesty, it feels so out of her character, I always thought of it as Fluttershy trapped in a prison in which is her new body that craves apples.

• The Equestria Girls movies.
• Most of the songs from the show (A good 85% of them).
• Pony merchandise with the brushable manes and tails. 
• Ponies with socks, wet manes, and belly buttons
• Most fan-made music
• Season one
• Derpy
• Time Turner
• Shipping characters
• "Button Mash" and his mother
• Humanized/anthro pony art
• FlutterShy
• When fans look too far into something. Example: Thinking that the characters have mental disorders.
• Ridiculous theories
• Pony talk
• My Little Dashie

Agreed 10000% on this - it's fine, though not my thing, as a dumb fan joke, but not when it gets to the point people act like Celestia's secretly an evil dictator/doesn't care about her subjects and happily banished her sister to the moon for the lolz when canon has never shown us anything but the complete opposite. (Celestia being mean/abusive/not caring about Luna is the worst for me - the flashbacks in Princess Twilight Sparkle shows how difficult it was for her, and there was their teary reunion and "we were meant to rule together" at the very start of the series and you will never ever convince me that they don't love each other deeply okay? >.<)

• I do not like Lauren Faust's writing. It has some moments, but even the good episodes always had some needlessly awkward moment in them.
• Season 1 to an extent
• most remixes of songs from the show

Honestly guys, Equestria Girls is neither overrated nor underrated. It's actually pretty borderline. It's like there's an equal amount of people who love it as much as people hate it. And that's why I'm pretty touchy when reading arguments about it, because people seem to either have as much as a vile hatred for it as the Star Wars prequels, or they say 10/10 BEST MOVIE EVER MAN! And these things just repeat until it leads to to petty insults. So you could say I don't like debates about the show that just devolve into lashing out at people.

 

Also, I hate the whole "Hasdrone" buzzword I've seen on Equestria Daily. It's basically a blanket term for, "This episode/movie/idea sucks! You're bad for liking it because you have a different opinion than me." 

 

Alternatively, I don't like how even when someone gives a legit criticism, they then use the "kids show" buzzword. That's basically a blanket term for, "This is supposed to be bad, you're bad for wanting to improve it."

 

I also don't like the types of critics who think nitpicking is legit criticism. Now, there's only a handful of people in the analysis community who does that, but it's still there and it's annoying to deal with. Most of their criticisms aren't even that big of a deal and keep in mind, I criticize stuff in the show too.

Well, I wouldn't really say I hate anything most bronies like. I'm mostly neutral to stuff that I don't care for. some fan animations, Flash Sentry, I'm neutral, mostly. I guess I don't really like gorefics and I think  "Love and Tolerate" is stupid and should go away.

Rarity why the hell do people like her? She's nothing but a damn drama queen who wines at a drop of a hat.

Our fandom's tendency to accept whatever the show comes up with simply because it is this show. Not saying everyone should regard every episode harshly or that every episode should be held to godly standards, but there's nothing wrong with not liking everything a show you like puts out, as long as you're not looking for stuff to hate on just for the sake of hating on it. Just look at Star Trek and Doctor Who fans.

- I don't feel hate towards Derpy but certainly don't prefer her. It makes me little upset inside how much bronies love her and why they usually love her.

 

- I really hate the tendency for bronies to be way to personal with discussion with pony characterization. It's all empathetic. It takes some real searching to find a good discussion thread on negative and positive aspects and details of pony personalities without someone throwing around how they like and defend their favored ponies only because they relate to them. Yes, I do love characters I can relate too personally but also like discussing my characters of interest shredded down to their most ugly and unbearable flaw. I think these ponies are personified enough to have humanistic and realistic qualities, yes? I do believe also lots of bronies actually enjoy to repeat this behavior when I'm meaning and asking something else.

 

- I also feel like too many bronies are "furryphobe-happy". Sometimes I can't even say the term without some brony pointing out how much they dislike furry content and furries.

Not sure if everyone loves or hates this but the fact that when ponies wear shoes. Sometimes the points on the shoes are kept. It looks disturbing especially when they are wearing them on all 4s. Because the front part is supposed to be a pony's hand. Celestia's shoes are actually good because they lack a point. If the shoes kept to the cylindrical shape of the leg and foot. Then it would be better.

How exactly is clop pathetic? People get off to it, it's no different than normal porn, hentai, yiff, or the like. They might just not like human porn, they just like it for some reason, I don't know. I highly doubt people just leave their computer free for their children to access (or jack off when someone can easily walk in on you doing so), plus they can very easily use incognito or can erase their history. I highly doubt they have mental health issues or are antisocial because they clop. They don't get off to the show, they get off to fanart clop. (atryl, etc.) Some clop I'm not okay with, such as foalcon, but besides that it should be perfectly acceptable to clop, as long as it's not shoved in other people's faces, done in public, and if it does not go overboard. May I also add that if you ask pretty much any clopper out there if they wanted to fuck a real, live horse, they would flat out say no.

Let me tell you something bud:

I am a perfectly healthy teen with a loving family, great friends, good grades, all that mumbo jumbo.

And guess what?

I clop.

So I ask of you, please do not make assumptions of cloppers, because they're basically just like you are: a fan of the show, except they clop to fanart. They're not all sick, or sad or antisocial, or any of that. You're stereotyping a group of people that did nothing to hurt you or (most of the time) anyone else.

So think about this for a minute:

how does it feel that you're making assumptions of people for something they do in their own private time, away from others? Plus, if you were one yourself (as I think you did say), then does that make YOU sad/sick/antisocial?

Either way, clop is not something a lot of bronies like. In fact, it's the opposite. It's one of those stereotypes everyone has on bronies too. And even if they don't do it personally, they just have to bash the people who do.
