Opinions on high school

The last time I was in high school was way back in 2000 and while my experiences are fuzzy in places, I do remember that they weren't the best years of my life. I was bullied during my first and second years though my final year was remarkably peaceful on my mind, yet I was also diagnosed with my disability before the end of Grade 10 that changed everything. So yeah, high school was a nightmare for me more than anything else and I'd rather not look back on it anymore than I have to.

High school was time where I hated everyone, including myself. Your just there moving alongside the road carrying a huge load of dead weight. You see others carry the burden too and whether or not they even cared enough to carry it, that's all up to them. Some give up, some wandered off the path and some just load the burden to others. Everyone you see wants to see you stumble and fall.

My experience wasn't really as bad as some other people had with it.

I wouldn't even say I had a bad one at all.

I didn't really do much, but I did have friends, and teachers that I liked.

Pus I was pretty lucky to have been in the school district I was in.

It was a pretty good one to be honest,

But I wouldn't say it was amazing or anything.

I would say that it was okay for me personally.

I wasn't interested in studying when in highschool. That was, I feel, the teachers' failure. That said, I did get to do lots of things. I wouldn't call most of them mature however.

I do believe it can be the best years of one's life - if you have yourself figured out. Otherwise you'll end up full of regrets.

High school for me was so-so. I was usually busy at all times and had no time to talk.

The teachers yes, anyone else no. I know that feeling after you graduate. You want to go back and do that again. Nostalgia I'm guessing.

My advice is to enjoy being with your school friends while you can. Some of them you'll never see again until 10 year reunion.

My thoughts on high school up to this point has been "This is interesting."

I had many different Ideas on what it was like going in, so for the first two years I was the shy type then last year and this year I've have well known throughout the halls for my actions, and something that adds to my appearance that will not be named, but generally I've become much more outgoing and vastly different from how I was in my first two years so yeah to me High School is interesting.

To me, high school seems to be what you make of it. Not anywhere near as much as college, but there's still some of that same element. Yes, there are some sub-par teachers and students, but I've found that if I keep my head down and do my work none of that really effects me too much. I happen to be one of the youngest people in my high school as I was enrolled a year early, and that causes transitions to be a bit tougher for me. However, I'm still doing okay and I'm generally happy right now. It's easier once you get to know a few people who aren't crazy.

High school felt like a waste of time. Didn't really make any friends there, and I can certainly say that they were far from the "best years of my life." My undergraduate years in college were certainly more enjoyable.

But if there's one thing I do know, it's that the people in high school who hated my guts weren't important in the long run.

I disliked teen daycare. So much so, that I only had to do two years there. Managed to find out I could get the school to pay for college classes, as long as I did them during regular school hours. Granted, that the college classes got me nowhere.

When I was in high school, we had pat downs, K-9 units sniffing out drugs, kids bringing knives to school, regular fights, our food sometimes came with bugs and used band aids cooked in, hate crimes, rampant MRSA infections, and we had bomb threats like every other week. I consider my old high school a correctional facility.

Yeah, it was a straight up prison.

I hated secondary school! They were some of the worst years of my life. I was bullied and didn't have too many friends, and everybody thought I was dumb. I constantly skipped school because I just hated being there. By the end of school I came out with horrendous GCSE results.

But I got to retake my GCSEs in sixth form and came out with far better results. I then later finished an Access Course and got into university. I'm now pursuing a degree in biology and reaching the end of it. I've been working very hard at it. I also made some friends at uni, but I would still like more! :)

Highschool was the best years of my life so far. Hands down. I spent my time in highschool just kinda focusing on myself. Screwed around and did next to nothing but was real active with JRTOC. At the time I wanted to enlist as a combat medic but stars know I'd loathe such a thing.

Highschool is like a crucible. You either burn or galvanize. In my case I'd like to think it made me a self aware young adult. The schooling itself was deplorable.

I was a nervous wreck in high school. It wasn't even a stereotypical high school with cliques and bullies and that. I just seemed to feel miserable about grades, my social life, and my future.

My high school years were a surprising relief. Bullying lessened considerably, I was able to focus on my work and get better grades without being harassed by obnoxious classmates and wrongfully punished and ignored by uncaring teachers. I made more friends in high school then I actually made all throughout elementary and middle school. That's not to say I didn't have good friends then however.

I hated high school. I didn't have any real friends at school and being a queer in a Catholic school was just awful. Plus I don't think high school students are nearly as mature as they should be, but that's probably mostly me since I matured very early. Idk, I guess there were a few people who it was cool to meet, and I enjoyed learning, but overall it was a pretty bad experience for me :(

I hated highschool kids were to put it nicely big a holes that constantly bullied me because I was in special needs and I didn't really fit in since my school was that kind of school that depended more on its football team then its test scores. And well I am horrible at sports, I was always more of a nerd. For a time my older brother went to the same school with me so we would eat lunch together everyday and some girls at the neighboring table thought it would be cute to pair us up.  And of course I told them every damn time that was my brother not my boyfriend. What sucks is that I was proven not to need special needs classes when I was a senior but it was far to late to place me in all normal classes at that point. My biggest complaint was that I never felt challenged at school so I would draw when i was finished with my work. My teachers always hated that I did that but they didn't mind if the kids talked. To make a long story short this one particular teacher would always complain about that I was drawing in class and one day got shut up by her boss at my IEP meeting. Another thing I hated was that my fellow classmates would baby talk to me thinking I guess I was stupider then them even though I had a higher grade point average then most of the kids that were in my normal classes. Then at my graduation the stupid idiots decided to throw a giant beach ball almost costing me my diploma. Most people are sad to graduate, me I was effing ecstatic to leave that damn place and be rid of all those idiots.

I didn't like high school much... for the first two years I was really withdrawn and depressed. :( Junior and senior years were better (made some amazing friends), but I still wasn't happy and really only actually tried so I could get into college and escape from the bullies and generally terrible people I was around on a daily basis. Thankfully, some of my high school friends are going to the same university so we still spend time together.

Ok, time for some brutal honesty.

Whoever said high school is the best four years of your life is a stupid fuck. Just like 9 out of 10 people in high school.

High school is only good if you fit into a clique, ideally an athletic one. If you're short or fat or awkward like I was, it's a living hell. I knew it would be a living hell early so I just cut my losses, flew under the radar, did my work, came home, and tried to make it go by as fast as possible. In hindsight that may have been a mistake since I missed out on a lot of opportunities that way by avoiding sports and extracurricular shit, but as the saying goes, "Living in the past is depression, living in the future is anxiety, living in the present is peace" and I don't really want another bought of depression right now. So I'm just gonna forget about it. I regret nothing.

College though, that's where it's at! :D People actually have their heads pulled out of their asses here.

PS: I went to a tiny Catholic high school. Basically the epitome of everything I didn't…click with…So I am biased.

Hah sorry. Gotta disagree here.

There's a lot of enjoyable aspects of high school. The friends you make, some class subjects, and the activities. Being in marching band and concert band has personally made high school the best years of my life. And I'm not a stupid fuck :)

Traditional high school is just a 4 year long nightmare you can't wake up from... I hated it, and I'm glad I went to a charter school my senior year. Felt like they actually cared there, and it was just an overall better experience. I just wish I had heard about it sooner.
