What was your first view on Bronies

I had an open mind and I liked the people in the fandom immediately when I joined the show in october 2015

If I don't understand something or Interpret it wrong, I'm dutch. Sometimes I gamble for meanings of the words. And sometimes I write the wrong words, like week and weak for example. Sorry for it already. :smug:

My first reaction was confusion, like why the heck would a buncha guys enjoy this? Why? Which lead to curiosity lol.

All things that interact with the world exert a force. All things that exert a force have an opposite and equal force. Ergo, nothing immaterial exists [because where would the opposite force be without material as a medium?]. Ergo god doesn't exist immaterially. Also if the universe were infinite itd take infinite time for a god to make it. If it were finite it'd be subject to entropy. Which means an eternal god can't exist.

So I kind of had a non reaction. I would see someone mention bronies. But I didn't really know what it was so I didn't comment. Actually I think I stumbled across a FlutterDash fic about three years ago. But I didn't know what mlp was so I was confused as hell. But yeah I didn't really form an opinion until I started watching mlp. At which point I thought the fandom was really cool.

Also FlutterDash is the best part of mlp. Cough cough

I thought that bronies especially adults are weird a little crazy and infantyle. Many of them may be even dumbs. Since almost seven months I am one of them. I wasn't right. They are wonderful, emotional, good and friendly persons!

I used to have mixed opinions on the Brony Fandom (Indifferent to Utter Hatred). But, I overcame (or overcoming) my hatred and just want to be considered a Non-Brony. Yeah, I used to be an Anti-Brony. It's a long and psychologically maddening story.

I didn't really know what to think about Bronies at first. I mainly just saw them as an oddity, until my friends joined the fandom, that is, because then they started to better explain things about the fandom to me and, well, got me to try MLP.

I thought it was weird and honestly couldn't stand them. That was the result of copying what I heard and not forming my own opinions. When I realised there was no reason to hate them I very quickly became neutral. Then I ended up watching an episode and I was hooked. It just shows that people are too quick to jump to conclusions or to just copy their opinions from those around them. People need to give things a chance before they form an opinion.

I didn't know much about them but I was curious then I sought them out and found this site when I became a brony it was all because of those bronies that I met back in school showing me the rainbow factory song that lead to my eventual corruption into bronydom

I've been an anime fan for a long time, so I thought the bronies were just another extension of the anime fandom. In fact, when I first saw G4 images I thought they were anime artist interpretations of the MLP stuff from the 80's. When I started watching the show, just this last year, I became more curious and I found that the brony fandom is actually quite cool.

So I never had a negative impression. Some of the things I've seen don't impress me - I only like the art that is true to the spirit of the show, and that would include the fans as well (stay true my friends).

The fanatics and 'weirdos' are everywhere - and in my experience, much of the over-the-top stuff is totally done on purpose - no matter what fandom it is. Consider Overwatch - same diversity and craziness as MLP.

I guess I just don't, and never have, perceived MLP G4 as a 'girl's show'. It's easy to see that it appeals to young kids, but that doesn't mean it's lame. Lame is poor story telling and flat characters - that is NOT MLP FiM.

A "girl show" managed to attract a cult following of adult males? That's simply impressive.

I legitimately thought only the Disney Princess line-up could something like that! Silly thought, I know!

Back in 2011-2012 I thought that all that MLP craze was some sort of a mediavirus and a trolling thing (which it was to some extent). I found bronies weird, but didn't hate them, as I had no reason to.

I didn't really think much of Bronies because I often watched anime that was a little childish (although even children's anime usually get rather dark in some way or another), so I didn't really have the right to judge, especially because I'd never seen the show before. It was a severely autistic friend of mine who introduced the concept to me first, but she didn't tell me how prevalent Bronies were, and she often watched shows that were for toddlers, so I thought that it was perhaps just a thing that she and a few others did, and I supported it because it was nice to see her really get into a fandom that made her happy. It was about a year or so later that I found how prevalent Bronies were, and I figured that so many people couldn't be wrong, so after researching the series a little, I watched the first episodes on YouTube, and I was pleasantly surprised by it, especially with regards to Swarm of the Century. I kept going with it, and loved how the series developed to satisfy its older audiences.

Some honest reviews and constructive criticism regarding my OC would be much appreciated. Thank you so much! :pinkie: https://mlpforums.com/roleplay-characters/bright-spark-r10033/

I didn't really mind since I was also waiting for mlp:fim to come out when I heard about it too.  So I guess you could say I was always a brony?  I was a bit confused about why people would make being a brony sound like a bad thing, I mean, if no one was hurting anybody than what's the point getting your panties in a twist over what someone else likes?  Yeah, some of it makes sense after a point but I didn't really mind it.

  • 3 weeks later...

"Boys that like My Little Pony? HAHAHA, it is a girly show for girls. Boys should only like football/soccer, axes and guns."

"Why does it have 8/10 in iMDB, that is impossible."

one episode later...

"That was great. Let's go to the next one."
